Other announced improvements to ShareFile include an updated iPad app (to ship by the end of the month with a new user interface, improved offline access, support for multiple ShareFile accounts, data expiration policies and improved audit and monitoring controls), integration with CloudGateway 2 (for enterprise-wide deployment of ShareFile with access to on any device running Citrix Receiver using locally-installed applications or those hosted on XenApp; expected by July 2012), and integration with Podio (for social file sharing in dedicated workspaces).

Citrix CEO Mark Templeton said ShareFile was not so much 'Dropbox for enterprise' as 'iCloud for business.' A technical preview of ShareFile with StorageZones was available immediately, he added.

Combining ShareFile with Citrix Receiver (used to run hosted apps on different devices) means organisations can provide secure access to all the applications and all the data across a wide range of devices
